Why we are different to other dog walking companies

You may have seen dog walkers operating in your local park. Pulling up with a car packed full of baying dogs, letting them spill out into the car park on the assumption that other vehicles will see any wandering dogs and stop or slow down. Walking with a pack of up to 10 dogs whilst chatting on a mobile phone, never checking on the dogs lagging behind the group, assuming they are all following. Bringing out elderly or ill dogs who can't keep up with the pace. Nearly every month for the past year I have seen a dog left behind in a park by an unwitting, irresponsible 'professional' dog walker. Unfortunately, this is the stark reality of most dog walking companies.

At Mad About The Dog I take FULL responsibility for all aspects of the weIfare of the dogs in my care. I usually walk dogs in groups of 2s, 3s or 4s, on occassion up to a maximum of 6. I walk the dogs on leads until they are well away from cars, horses, or deer. I match the energy levels of the dogs in the group, elderly or frail dogs will be taken out either with another elderly dog or on their own.

I never lose sight of any of the dogs and to aid me, each dog wears an id tag displaying my mobile phone numbers together with a little bell, so that I can use my ears as well as my eyes to keep tag of each dog.

I genuinely care about the safety and well being of each and every dog I care for and do my utmost to make sure they are enjoying their walks, getting on well with other dogs in the group and getting the stimulation and exercise that is right for their breed and individual needs. (Current clients will testify to this). Walks, groups and timings will be adjusted until the right combination of those elements for your dog is achieved.

My promise to you is that in my care your dog is in completely safe, capable and loving hands.
